What is a “trek level” and how do I choose the right one?- Trek levels indicate the physical intensity of a tour. Details are provided in each itinerary so you can select a tour that fits your comfort level.
Do I need prior knowledge of the paranormal to enjoy the tour?- No prior knowledge is required—our tours are designed for all experience levels.
Are your tours more educational or entertainment-based?- They are a blend of both, combining storytelling, history, and engaging experiences.

Can I attend a tour alone?- Yes, solo travelers are welcome. In fact, many of our Solo travelers have told us they feel very safe and well supported on our tours!

We wish to come in a few days prior to the start of the tour. Could you help us book rooms in or near the hotel that we will be staying at on the first day?- Yes, and we highly encourage this! Just contact us by email and let us know your exact needs. We will be able to accommodate this for you and bill you directly for the extra nights.

Is airfare included in the package prices for your tours?- No, this is a land-only package. You are responsible for your own flights, but Mysterious Adventures Tours can provide guidance on the best routes and rates.
How do I prepare for any of your Mysterious Adventures Tours?- Mysterious Adventures Tours provides access to a “Gateway: A Traveler’s Portal” resource center and scheduled Zoom calls to help you prepare for the specific logistics of traveling.
What happens if the weather is bad on the tour?- The tour proceeds rain or shine! (Of course, if the State Department for Travel advises that we cannot travel due to unanticipated natural devastating conditions, the tour may be cancelled and be classified as a Force Du Jour”. But this has never occurred during our service lifetime, nor is it likely. With common weather issues, some itineraries may be slightly adjusted for safety or accessibility due to weather, but the “Spooky” atmosphere often looks best under a bit of mist!

Will I share a room or have a private room?– Rooming options vary by tour.
Can I request a roommate?- Yes, where available.
What if no roommate is available?- A single supplement may apply.
Are airport transfers included?- Depends on the specific tour.
Can you arrange private transportation?- In some cases, transportation can be arranged.
What happens if my flight is delayed?- You are responsible for catching up with the group.

How much is the deposit?– Deposit amounts vary depending on the tour. Generally, they will be about 20% of the total trip’s cost.
Are deposits refundable?- No, deposits are not refundable, unless the tour is cancelled by our company. When this occurs, 100% of the deposit and other payments are refunded back.
When is the final payment due?- Final payment deadlines are specified at booking.
Do you offer payment plans?- Payment plans may be available depending on the tour.
Can I pay early or in full up front?- Yes, full payment can be made at any time.

Do prices change after booking?- Generally, pricing is locked in at the price at booking. There may be circumstances that may require the price to be changed. This change will be notified directly to the traveler, offering options to change their status.
What happens if I miss a payment deadline?- Your booking may be subject to cancellation, and is subject to cancellation penalties.
Do you offer financing or “buy now, pay later” options?- This may be available depending on the tour.
Is a deposit required to book?- Yes. A deposit is required to secure your space on a tour since group sizes are limited.
Can I make payments over time?- Many tours offer payment plans that allow you to spread payments over several months before the final payment deadline.
What forms of payment do you accept?- We accept major credit cards, ACH direct payments, and other secure online payment methods through our booking platform.
Cancellation & Policies
What is the cancellation policy?- Cancellation policies vary by tour and are detailed in the tour terms and conditions provided during booking.
Can I transfer my booking to someone else?– In some cases, transfers may be possible depending on timing and availability. Please contact our team for details.

What is your cancellation policy?- The initial deposit is non-refundable. Subsequent penalties depend on the date of cancellation: 25% penalty at 120-149 days out, 50% at 91-119 days, 75% at 61-90 days, and 100% penalty if cancelled within 60 days of the start date.

How much free time is included?- Free time varies by tour and is built into the itinerary where possible. Do keep in mind, if you wish to “sit out on a day”, you are perfectly welcome, as we are expected to return to the property at the end of the day.

What does the tour price usually include?- Most tours include accommodations, transfers, local transportation, intriguing activities in an infrequently visited destination, guided experiences, and select meals listed in the itinerary.
What is usually not included in the price?- Airfare, travel insurance, personal expenses, tips, and meals not listed in the itinerary are typically not included.
Do you offer single rooms?- Yes. Many tours offer both shared occupancy and single occupancy options.
Can I share a room with someone?- Yes. If you are traveling with a companion, you may share a room, or in some cases, we may help match roommates when possible.
Are there optional add-ons available?- Some tours offer optional add-ons such as pre-tour hotel nights, special events, or unique experiences.
Is there a processing fee to use my merchant credit card when making payments for the tours?- Yes, a 2.9% surcharge is imposed by the merchant card services when using a credit card. You may avoid this charge by using the ACH (bank-to-bank transfer) option. This will save you a bit of money! Just call us if you need to understand how to do this.
Is the “Shared” price for each person, or is it for the cabin to be split with two people?- The “Shared” price is per person. It is not per cabin. The total price for the cabin is the total price of two Shared Bookings.
What is the difference between Double and Single Occupancy pricing?- Double Occupancy is a per-person rate for those sharing a room. If you are a solo traveler, we can match you with a roommate of the same gender. Single Occupancy is the rate for travelers who prefer a private room to themselves throughout the journey.
I wish to purchase a “Shared” package, but I do not have a roommate. Would you be able to match me up with another person?- Yes! If you are traveling solo and choose the Shared Occupancy rate, we will match you with another solo traveler of the same gender. Keep in mind, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to find someone with the same request, so we do encourage you to attempt to find someone who may be interested. If neither you nor we can find someone, you will be required to pay the single supplement or stand to lose the reservation.
Are meals included?- Every tour has its own meal arrangements, but most of them will include breakfast every morning, along with a special Welcome Dinner
