What to Pack for Romania
Knowing what to bring to Romania is essential for making your journey more comfortable, efficient, and stress-free. Below is a practical guide to help you prepare for your time in Romania and beyond.
Luggage Guidelines
Limit yourself to two pieces:
• One large checked bag (stored in the coach)
• One smaller carry-on (overhead or under seat)
Add luggage tags with your contact details and place one inside your bag as backup.
Pack a collapsible bag for souvenirs and items collected along the journey.
Comfort for the Flight
Long-haul flights can be cold and tiring. Prepare with:
• Layers for temperature changes
• Loose, comfortable clothing with pockets
• Neck pillow, eye mask, or headphones
• Compression socks and regular movement
• Wear Slip-on, comfy shoes (May consider slippers while on the plane)
• Water bottle and light snacks
• Sanitizing wipes for surfaces
Clothing for Prague
Prague combines historic streets, cobblestones, and changing weather.
• Footwear: High heels or thin-soled shoes are a recipe for twisted ankles. Bring sturdy and comfortable walking shoes. (bring two pairs)
• Layered clothing for shifting temperatures
• Light jacket or coat, depending on the season
• Rain protection (compact umbrella or rain jacket)
• Comfortable pants or leggings
• One slightly dressier outfit for dinners or events
Packing Tip: Use packing cubes or compression bags to save space.
Laundry Services
Hotels: Most hotels offer this service. You leave clothes to be washed and folded by staff, saving time. (But it can be pricey.)
Google Search: Use terms like “wash and fold” or “laundromat near me”. Verify operating hours and payment methods (coin vs. card) through apps before visiting.
Drop-off services: Allow you to leave clothes to be washed and folded by staff, saving time.
Drop-off laundry services in Prague city center offer convenient wash, dry, and fold options, usually with 24-hour turnaround times.
Top providers include LAVOR Online, Wash & Fold, and Pure Clean. These generally cost around 650–800 CZK (31.15–38.48 USD) for a large package.

Electronics & Accessories
• European power adapter (Type C & E, 220V)
The Czech Republic uses a Type C plug with two rounded pins — Type E plugs also work in these sockets, for 220 Volts.
Consider getting a CONVERTER instead of a ADAPTER, precautionary for burning out your electronics. Use a surge protector for laptops or other expensive appliances.

• Phone, camera, and charging cables
• Portable power bank
• Headphones for flights and transfers
• Extra storage for photos (SD cards or cloud backup)
• Extension Cords (with converter)
Paranormal Equipment (If Bringing)
• Pack in carry-on when possible
• Avoid restricted or sharp items
• Lithium batteries must be in carry-on
• Be prepared to explain the equipment at security if needed
Remember, your awareness and perception are your most important tools.

• Prescription medications (in original containers)
• Motion sickness or nausea remedies
• Pain relievers (Ibuprofen, Tylenol)
• Digestive aids or antacids
• Sunscreen and lip balm

Optional but helpful:

• Antibacterial wipes
• Personal toiletries (travel-sized)
Public restrooms may occasionally require small coins.
Walking & Exploration Essentials

Optional:
• Compact umbrella
• Sunglasses
Traveler Tip
Pack light, versatile, and intentional.
Prague’s mix of historic streets, castle paths, and modern spaces means comfortable shoes, layers, and practical essentials will make all the difference.
A distinctive feature of the Czech locals is that they are used to getting up early and going to bed early. Therefore, most stores and establishments are open only until 18.00 and on Saturdays until 13.00. The only exceptions are supermarkets and stores on the main streets of big cities. They can be open until 22.00.
