Potterheads do reek of many benefits from having such rich lores of mysteries. There are many theories and stories that these dedicated followers can come up with to build the universe around films and books. This also means there are still mysteries to be solved. Some things in Harry Potter aren’t fully explained or explored. Potter followers are left wondering how or why certain things happened. Perhaps you can help us to find the logical explanations. Or do we just want to keep them guessing?

1. Peter Pettigrew Featured on The Marauder’s Map

Before Harry owned it, the notoriously mischievous Weasley twins possessed the Marauder’s Map. It shows the names and locations of Hogwarts residents. The map in Prisoner of Azkaban even showed Peter Pettigrew present at Hogwarts, despite everyone believing he was dead.

Many people have wondered how Fred and George didn’t notice Pettigrew in Ron’s bed, while he was acting as Ron’s pet and in his animagi form. They may not have been able to see Ron while they were using the map to locate secret passageways or check that their teachers weren’t there when they were doing something wrong. Fans are still puzzled as to how they missed Ron.

2. The Unlimited Food Mystery

Harry, Ron, and Hermione are on the run from Voldemort’s Death Eaters for the majority of Deathly Hallows. The trio find themselves in a lot of trouble, especially with the shortage of food.

There were many ways they could have magically gotten food. They could have used magic or a different method to get fish or duplicate the food they had. Food is an exception to Gamp’s Law of Elemental Transfiguration, so the latter is possible! Did they all forget this, even Hermione?

3. Mad-Eye Moody’s eye shouldn’t have been so powerful

Alastor “Mad-Eye” Moody, a retired Auror and Order of the Phoenix member, was powerful and well-respected. Moody was injured in a battle against the Death Eaters, and a magic eye was created to replace it.

Moody’s replacement eye was able to move 360 degrees, see through everything and even the back of his head. According to the Deathly Hollows legend, even Death couldn’t see through an invisible cloak. So how did Moody obtain such a powerful magical e?

Harry Potter's Glasses4. Harry’s glasses should have been fixed with magic

Harry Potter’s iconic feature is his use of circular-framed glasses. He wears them because of his poor eyesight. Dumbledore is one of many characters who wear glasses at Hogwarts.

The Wizarding World is filled with magic so why are so many witches and wizards still wearing glasses? The Chamber of Secrets can heal Harry’s broken bones, but it is believed that there is no magic cure for poor vision.

5. The Sorting System

Although the Hogwarts Sorting system may seem a bit charming and fun when you are a child, it is not so for adults.

One, why haven’t people accepted the fact that humans can be brave and clever? Is it not unfair to keep them in a house at 11 and make their development slow as they strive to live up to the expectations of their peers?

The whole “Slytherins all evil” thing is a bit unfair. It’s a way to dismiss a whole bunch of children before they can mature and grow.

6. What are the Magical Children’s Goals Before Hogwarts?

Harry Potter fans will be happy to know that magic children will be receiving their invitation letters to Hogwarts on their eleventh birthday. It is an exciting moment that marks the beginning of their magical schooling. The children don their robes and buy their books before they get their first wands at Ollivanders. Hermione Granger was one of many Muggle-born children who would have attended a regular elementary school. However, nothing is said about pureblood children. Are they allowed to sit in the same classroom until eleven years old?

7. Harry Should have been destroyed by The Basilisk’s Fang

Voldemort was the most famous evil wizard. He used Horcruxes to guarantee his immortality. Voldemort needed to dismember his soul and place it in an object to make a Horcrux. It is revealed in The Deathly Hollows that Voldemort also accidentally gave Harry one of his Horcruxes.

This begs the question: Why was Harry’s Horcrux not destroyed by the Basilisk when he was bitten? Fans believed Harry should have been destroyed by the Basilisk fang after Tom Riddle’s diary was destroyed by it.

8. Polyjuice Potion Problems

Polyjuice Potion, the notoriously evil potion that causes polyjuice to be dissolved in blood, is a common feature of Harry Potter’s universe. It is found in the Chamber of Secrets Goblet of Fire and Deathly Hallows and is used by many characters. It is not used by many characters.

It shouldn’t be difficult to make, since anyone can brew it, from a group of 12-year-olds to a randomly selected Death Eater. It is a mystery why Voldemort didn’t use it to get into Hogwarts and make deals with Harry. It seems that it is only available when the plot demands it. It’s suspicious…

9. The Basilisk’s Size Leaves Unanswered Questions

Harry faced the Basilisk, one of the most notorious creatures in his time at Hogwarts. The Basilisk, also known as the Serpent of Slytherin was a large snake that had venomous fangs and could even kill. For many years, the Basilisk lived beneath Hogwarts.

The size of the Basilisk leaves many unanswered questions. The Basilisk is too big to have passed through the pipes that it allegedly slithered through. What did it eat all the years it was in Chamber? For such a large animal, rats would have been too much.

10. Lupin as a Werewolf could have killed the Marauders

The Marauders are a name that refers to a group who used to attend Hogwarts. Serious Harry Potter fans will be familiar with them. These students included James Potter, Sirius Black, and Remus Lupin.

To help Lupin transform into a werewolf, the Marauders learned to be powerful animagi. This doesn’t make sense. Lupin was a powerful werewolf, while the others were a stag, and dog, and a rat. Lupin could easily have attacked and killed them all, but it is not clear why he did not succumb to his anger.

11. Dumbledore’s Lack Of Logic

Albus Dumbledore, despite being one of the most intelligent and talented wizards of all time, can be quite stupid sometimes. This is not just with his Defense Against The Dark Arts employment strategy.

One example is when Harry decided to ignore Harry, the boy who had just seen Voldemort’s return and was clearly in need of support, during Order of the Phoenix. A lot of children often solve mysteries at Hogwarts when there are suspicious happenings. What is the answer?

12. James and Lily left Harry a ridiculous amount of money

The viewers knew from the beginning that Harry Potter was an orphan and had to live with his cruel aunt and uncle. Harry was treated badly by the Dursleys, who gave him very little. This contrasts starkly with what Harry gets in the Wizarding World.

Harry is greeted with wealth in Gringotts’ vault. But where is all of this wealth? Although it is believed that the Potters were wealthy, fans aren’t sure how they got this wealth when they were so young.

13. The Relationship Between Hagrid’s Parents and Their Parents is Not Explained

Rubeus Hagrid is one of Harry Potter’s most beloved characters. His backstory is interesting but not fully fleshed out. Hagrid, a giant half-giant who towers over all other characters, is huge. Hagrid is kind, gentle, and sensitive.

Hagrid’s father, a short wizard, had somehow married and had a daughter with Fridwulfa. This strange relationship cannot be explained, and it is not clear why giants didn’t mix with wizards. Giants were thought to be less intelligent and more prone to violence. The relationship was questioned by fans.
