Mysterious Adventures Tours

Weird Traveler: Phantasialand

Being a weird traveler can take you to many strange places like hidden crypts inside ancient city centers, haunted castles full of mystery and folklore and also the occasional vampire bar (yes, we did say vampire bar!). But sometimes it also takes you on an adrenaline rush when exploring a more whimsical side of the country. For all the speed demons who enjoy a unique theme park experience, Phantasialand is calling your name. It’s perhaps one of Germany’s most impressive theme parks.

Phantasialand is simply a magical place and one of the prettiest parks around. As you enter the park, you’re suddenly transported to a different world. The park is divided into six different themed areas: Berlin, China Town, Deep in Africa, Fantasy, Mexico and Mystery. These areas all have their own themed orientated snacks and restaurants, impressive shows, and world record holding rollercoasters for all age groups. While there are some rides for the kiddos, Phantasialand offers many attractions for the thrill-seeking enthusiast.

This park is home to Taron, one of the longest multi-launch rollercoaster in the world, and Raik, the world’s fastest family boomerang rollercoaster of its kind, with forwards and backwards motion. Black Mamba is a fantastic inverted coaster for ride enthusiasts, and if you need to cool off, you can head for the refreshing water attractions: Chiapas, an incredibly fun log flume with the world’s steepest drop for a ride of its kind (you will get wet!) and River Quest, a river rapids ride through a castle with a big splash.

The true magic of this park is just walking around and taking in the impressive theming. If you don’t find yourself to be a speed demon, you can indulge in a refreshing pint in the Fantasy area or taste a delicious churro in Mexico. Visiting Phantasialand is always an enjoyable experience. Despite the occasional heavy crowds and longer-than-usual wait times, you often get the chance to have multiple re-rides of some of your favorite coasters. This park truly has the best of the best, all crammed into a small space. It’s impressive, and while this little hidden gem may not be on everyone’s to-visit list when visiting Germany, it truly should be. We’re already looking forward to our next visit!
