Why a Mysterious Adventure?

Life as we know it can be so rigid. How easily we are lost in the day-to-day. We wake, hurry the kids off to school, fight rush hour to try and clock in on time. 8 hours pass, for some maybe more.

We come home and for many the routine is the same, we are tired, we trudge through another load of dishes, mount dried laundry towers over our psyche, and we can hear its menacing laugh. We leave it for another day….

But sometimes, if we look in the right places or allow our minds to rest, even for a moment, we can be shown a different path. A kin to walking along a hiking trail that you may take each day only to stop for a moment and see a faint glowing light, a will O the wisp…

Perhaps coming upon this blog, is just that twist of fate.

Are You Fated?

The Selkie

The Faeries

Legends From The Dark

In the shadowy forests of Romania, the legend of the strigoi reigns supreme, a vampiric entity that lurks in the darkness, preying upon the living. According to Romanian folklore, the strigoi is often depicted as a restless spirit, returning from the grave to torment the living and drain them of their life force. Tales of these undead creatures have haunted the countryside for centuries, with villagers taking precautions to ward off their malevolent influence through rituals and charms.

In contrast, the misty moors and ancient forests of England are said to be home to a different breed of nocturnal creature: the werewolf. According to English folklore, werewolves are humans who have been cursed to transform into savage wolves under the light of the full moon. These fearsome creatures are said to roam the countryside, hunting for prey with an insatiable hunger that cannot be sated.

One of the most famous werewolf tales from English folklore is that of the Beast of Gevaudan, a monstrous creature said to have terrorized the French countryside in the 18th century. According to legend, the beast was responsible for countless attacks on villagers, leaving a trail of death and destruction in its wake. Despite numerous attempts to hunt down the creature, it continued to elude capture, striking fear into the hearts of all who crossed its path.

 

So let us heed the call of the unknown, casting aside the mundane and embracing the mysterious journey that lies before us. For in the end, it is not the destination that matters, but the journey itself—the winding path that leads us ever onward, into the heart of the great unknown.
